  • A testimonial from Kate and Jay Duffy:

    • We are very happy to give our son the opportunity to attend such a positive learning and social environment.
We wanted our child to have quality education while learning in a Catholic environment. We believe in the Saint Mary's Assumption School Mission Statement of preparing students to strive for excellence spiritually, academically, physically and socially to become life long learners with strong Catholic values. We know and respect that the SMA teachers are very student-centered and do their very best job in preparing our child to become a contributing member to society.

  • A testimonial from Rob and Patti Houston:

    • St. Mary's Assumption's preschool was a terrific investment that prepared our daughter, Molly, to begin school.   We were very happy with the individual attention she received and the skills she developed that will lead to future success.  Before we made our final decision to attend St. Mary's kindergarten we took our daughter to Pittston Area's kindergarten screening.
While we waited for her to complete her reading readiness test we watched as student after student completed their reviews and the teachers told their parents there were certain things they needed to work on over the summer to make their children ready for kindergarten. When our daughter completed her screening, they said she was ready to move to kindergarten and didn't need any additional help.
St. Mary's Assumption made sure each student in the preschool program was this well prepared and ready to make a successful transition into kindergarten.
Not only did the students learn the alphabet and numbers as expected, they also developed confidence unexpected for such young children. At their graduation ceremony and other programs throughout the year, every student was able to confidently stand before the crowd and recite individual poems and lines.
Miss Serino and Miss Cindy did an excellent job and were very approachable. They were always positive and quick to offer encouragement to the students and ready to offer advice when there was something the students needed to work on.  We look forward to continued success and many more enjoyable experiences as our daughter begins kindergarten at St. Mary's Assumption.

  • A testimonial from Jay Duffy, SMA Alumni:

    • For me, nothing can compare to the Catholic education that I received, the values that have been instilled in me, the individual attention I was given, and the traditions I had the opportunity to be apart of.
